Things are going from strength to strength in the poly tunnel, this pear was grafted last year on pyro dwarf and put on a modest 12 to 14" of growth, so far this year it has already put on 6"!

Here is a of pictures of the apple grafts done in February, they are also showing good growth, should be some nice trees to plant out come the autumn.

This years grafts are doing well, some have even started to produce flowers, here is a Tremletts Bitter, a couple of the Somerset redstreak are producing flowers as well, these have all been nipped off as we want leaf and stem growth at this stage.

The rootstocks have arrived from The Peoples Trust for Endangered species and I have been busy grafting the scions for the heritage orchard, Apples on M25 and Perry pears on to Pyrus communis, I have also grafted the Wiltshire heritage apples on to M27 root-stocks with the idea of planting them deep so they grown on their roots and comparing the fruit with the ones from the M25 rooted trees, I will update in a few years when we have had some fruit to compare.

The pear scions were starting to shoot even though they were kept damp in the fridge since I got them, I should really have grafted them about a month ago at the latest but was waiting on the rootstocks, we will see how they go and if any fail I will bud graft them in the summer.

Looks like the grafts done in February are starting to get going, just got to keep the poly-tunnel humid and not let it get too hot in there.
